Over the last month, Ty Gwyn have been on tour! We’ve been to the Ludlow Food Festival, Malvern Autumn Show and, of course, the Abergavenny Food Festival. Abergavenny was an especially good one for us. We were chuffed to the core when Henry Chevallier Guild of Aspall cyder included our Medium Sweet blue-label cider in a talk he gave, pairing it with a delicious Caerphilly cheese. Henry is a highly respected cider expert with a passion for the UK cider scene, so we were absolutely delighted to get his seal of approval. Thank you, Henry!

Alex Culpin preparing the cider belt pressPressing is about to start!

We’ve had the belts changed on our Voran Belt Press, which we have now discovered is the only one of its kind in the country. The vats have been sterilised, the hard standing has been power washed and the 20-tonne lorries full of apples are on their way! It’s all about to get very exciting (as well as very messy). As we’ve mentioned before, it is a very interesting time of year to come and visit us so if you’re a trade customer and would like to bring some of your staff along to to see how our cider is made, please get in touch.

Mulled cider ready to go

Halloween is just around the coner, and Christmas is on the horizon. As a suitably seasonal tipple, we’ll selling mulled cider in bag-in-boxes. All you need is a tea urn to heat the cider, and you’re good to go! If this is something you would be interested in, please let us know as this will help us predict demand.

And a warm welcome to…

We are delighted to welcome on board Tiny Rebel’s two outstanding establishments, Urban Taphouse Cardiff and Urban Taphouse Newport. Other new customers include Crafty Devil Brewing’s shop in Canton, Cardiff, The Brynffynon Hotel near Pontypridd, and the Cwm Deri Vineyard near Narberth.

Happy October everyone, see you at the cider bar!
